March 26, 2012, OZ - WOZ Troupe Close Escrow on Emerald City.
Long time friends and fellow adventurers Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman, Lion, and Glinda announced their purchase of Emerald City today. The quintet secured their title with a $320K loan from Munchkin Home Loans out of Munchkin City, OZ.  Spokesperson Glinda Goodwitch spoke to Erratum about the lengthy process.Jim- When did you decide to purchase EC?Glinda- I’d be lion if I didnt admit that we’d been thinking about this for years. After Dorothy left, Curly, Tin, and Crow lived in EC for a few years but problems developed between them and the residents. The three of them were forced to leave suddenly one day and didn’t have anywhere to stay. They couldnt stay me. That would not have been proper or fitting. I was eventually able to contact Dorothy. The five of us discussed the idea of buying EC as a way to give the boys a place to stay again and also provide some stability, but coming up with enough money was always the main issue. Jim- So how did you get the money?Glinda- Last year we met again at the Munchkin City Brewhouse for our 7th ten year anniversary. Our renewed conversation about buying EC was overheard by the President of MH Loans, Wally Greenbottom. He joined our table and informed us that he was very interested in helping us purchase EC if we would convert the City into a vacation resort and we all live there to manage operations. Even after emptying our pockets and showing him our collective hundred thirty five bucks, Wally pressed his offer.  So after monkeying around with the idea for years and scaring up a little cash, Wally and MH Loans made it happen for us. We started the paper work right away.Jim- That’s an amazing story. I’m sure OZ fans will be happy to hear about your good fortune. What happens next?Glinda- As you know, EC has fallen into disrepair over the years. All the residents moved out during the droughts of the 60’s. The green silos no longer shine. The main courtyards are overgrown with frightening weeds. The surrounding poppy fields have been fallowed too long to produce. We plan to secure additional loans that will provide jobs for Munchkins who want to help clean up and rebuild. Next summer we plan to open EC with its first attractions.Jim- Which are?Glinda- We’ve decideed on only a few things at this point. For the nostalgic, there will be a petting corral with many horses of different colors. There will be a large enclosed forested area within Gale Court sporting a self guided tour along a beautiful yellow brick road. For the youngsters, we have designs already drawn up for a roller coaster connecting the Western silos. A sizable water park will occupy Wizard Park. A five star hotel and convention center will be located outside the main gate.  Obviously, the hotel will be the first completed project.Jim- Congratulations and thank you Glinda. Erratum looks forward to getting updates on your amazing news and forthcoming project.
